Ramayan Ram Bhakt

About US

If you are reading this then you definitely have an interest in the site. Like you I also searched a lot of websites to read ramayan and other holy books on. I ended up buying a Ramayan (which I am glad I bought) and reading it gave me lots of valuable information and insight.

There are a lot of websites on the internet with online Ramayans. However, most of these online resources are in sanskrit and basically not something ordinary people like me understand. Thus all this and also my Ramayan readings gave me the inspiration and drive to create this site. My aim here is to try and put every hindu resource I can in a friendly format so that everyone can enjoy them. In addition I have noticed that a lot of young generation are losing language and the hindu culture. Thus I felt the need to educate these young minds to our culture and values so that it is retained.

In addition as I myself am a migrant to a new country, found it hard to come across contacts like Ramayan mandalis, Hindu Pundits and other Hindu related societies and organisations locally. Thus here on RamBhakt.com I will place contact details of such communities and societies so everyone can find them. I will also try to keep lists of all mandirs around Australia.

I will also place on this site audio and lyrics of Hindu bhajans, kirtans and devotional songs. By this time I guess you must have guessed that you will find almost everything relating to Hindu religion and culture on this site and you are right in thinking that.

Now a little about me. I am an individual born in Nausori, Fiji Islands. My name is Nilesh Shankar. I had my formal education in Fiji upto University where I completed a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science and Information Technology. I worked in Fiji for almost two and a half years before migrating to Sydney Australia where I reside at present time. I married in Fiji to my high school sweetheart name Pooja Sharma (now Pooja Shankar) and we both live together here in Australia. In Fiji we had a very active Hindu community and thus we have been brought up learning our culture, religion and traditions. After migrating to Australia we realised the big lack of it and thus we became very active in holy activities. Another of our aims is that if we won't be active in such activities then our children will also not learn about these things.

I am a Sanatan Dharam follower so most of my content will relate to Sanatan Dharam.
